This comprehensive new Quad/Nano Cortex capture pack features 24 unique captures of the Lichtlaerm Audio Prometheus, an amp that can be considered a modern classic! The amp was captured in great detail and everything is dialed in to sound great from the start!
NOTE: the V2 pack is a completely new set of captures with newly updated capture methods, gear and speakers etc. The original Prometheus Quad Cortex pack is still available but the new captures were created to be superior both sonically and in terms of use.
Disclaimer: in this case V2 does NOT stand for "Neural Capture V2" as this pack was created before Neural Capture V2 came out. However, the accuracy is amazing so there are no plans to re do these captures.
This pack includes 12 captures that were shot with a real mic'ed cab loaded with a V30 and meticulously mic'ed with multiple studio standard microphones for a rich tonal spectrum and an overall pleasing sound, whether you're placing the guitars in a mix or simply playing by yourself.
This pack also includes 12 DI captures. These are captures of the exact same sounds as were dialed in with the cab. However, instead of going through the real cab the signal from the line out of the amp was taken as a reference. In this case the real speaker cab takes care of the impedance interaction, rather than using a reactive load, resulting in more streamlined results across the board.
The Prometheus has multipe channels and switches and captures were made of as much of these different tonal options, but without the user potentially getting lost in too many options. Even the "defeat" option was captured. In this mode the preamp of the amp is completely bypassed. This is a great platform for preamps and "amp in a box" style pedals for example.
